Vietnam E-Visa: Documents, Duration, and Application Steps

You need Passport valid for at least 6 months, JPEG scan of bio page, passport photo (4x6cm white background no glasses), international payment card, and confirmed Address in Vietnam. Application goes through official Portal, takes about 3 working days, costs USD 25 for single-entry or USD 50 for multiple-entry. You get up to 90 days but cannot extend it in country, must exit and reapply. If you overstay, you pay fine at exit calculated per day and risk Re-Entry Ban, so better report to local Immigration Office if you lose track of dates.

Foreign ATM Cards Work Fine, But Watch Exchange Rates

Most ATMs here accept foreign Cards without problems, including Wise and Revolut which is very good option. The important thing is when machine asks you about Currency Conversion at the end, you must always decline and choose to be charged in VND instead. The ATM's conversion rate is always worse than your own Bank's rate, so you lose money if you accept it. Just withdraw VND directly and let your Bank handle the conversion, you get much better Deal that way.
